Project Collaboration: Locating Cultural Virtues in Diverse Countries
This is an extended project originating from my PhD research. In 2025, I was awarded a Slovak Government (SAIA) scholarship to conduct focus group interviews with teachers in Slovakia. The project is a collaboration between myself (University of Birmingham, UK), Professor Andrej Rajsky, and Associate Professor Martin Brestovansky (University of Trnava, Slovakia). We are currently co-authoring an article utilising this new Slovakian data, and are excited by its clear demonstration of prosociality among the participants. With the UK and Taiwan data already published in the Journal of Character Education, I am very open to collaborating with scholars - ideally cultural anthropologists - from any country who are interested in exploring a bottom-up understanding of cultural virtue.
